Case Study: Move On
Name: Craig James
I am a former resident of Five Valleys Foyer. I came to live at the Painswick Inn at the age of 20, I was not getting on with my parents and there were family disputes. I lived at the Painswick Inn for about 18 months before staff helped me to move on.
While I lived at the Foyer I became more motivated to do something. I used to do drugs but the staff motivated me to stop and then I got involved in training. I also found it less stressful living at Painswick Inn away from my parents.
I attended the course on Wood work, Glass making and worked on the allotment. This enabled me to get some qualifications and helped me to get a job as a landscape gardener. I am currently applying to the Princes Trust for a grant to start my own woodwork business.
The staff were really helpful when I moved on: they arranged for me to have Knightstone Floating Support, so I was helped when I moved on. I now live in Leonard Stanley with my girlfriend who is expecting our 1st baby in April.
