Name: Stephanie Friend

I have lived at Painswick Inn since September 2007 and I am 18 years old. Before living here I was in Bussage with my aunt, uncle and cousin.  It was really good at first, but after a year we weren’t getting on very well, so we decided it would be best if I moved on.  The trouble was there was nowhere in Stroud I could go.  I sofa-surfed for two months and then was offered a place at the project.

The staff are brilliant – they help me with loads of different things, especially depression.  When I was at my worst they did everything they could to support me.

At the moment I’m studying woodwork at Stroud College and I do ‘Mom’s dancing and Samba Drumming’.  I also do gigs around Stroud playing the guitar and singing.  My main aim in life is to be happy, but failing that - rich will do nicely.  Nah not really!  I want to find a proper home and start work, preferably as a musician, but I want to try different things and see what I like best.
