EST - The Referral Process

Referrals can be made by individuals as well as statutory sources

Following the receipt of a referral (which wherever possible includes any previous assessment reports) an initial liaison meeting and an interview with the applicant are held to identify his or her needs in detail. Once an assessment has been carried out to establish whether the applicant is suitable for the service of the EST, the referrer and applicant are informed of this decision.

All support packages provided by the EST need to be individually purchased, which ensures that services are tailor-made, developed to the specific needs of an individual, and therefore entirely needs led. This provides a unique opportunity for the service user to develop their independence skills, address any other needs they may have, and to achieve their full potential.
