Service User Involvement

At the Five Valleys Foyer we believe in involving Service Users in all aspects of our service delivery, from attending Service User meetings all the way up to Trustee and Strategic level.

We have a Service User Involvement Strategy that is built upon by our Service Users and have 3 levels of involvement that are rewarded: Gold, Silver and Bronze. What we believe in:

• Creative Consultation – not just questionnaires

• Service User Charter

• Training for Service Users in how they can participate

• Service User Forum

• Reward and recognition

• Peer Review

• Decision Making

• Self Assessment

Some ways in which we currently involve service users are:

• A gardening and landscaping project at Delmont’s Lot. The Service Users have helped to design a landscaped garden and vegetable garden. They have looked into materials, plants and have even helped with the application for funding.

• Consultation about a re-decoration project at Painswick Inn in the Service User computer room and kitchens.

• Review of House rules and development of a Residents Charter.
